The Farmers' warehouse at Island City is now finished with corrugated steel walls. Farmers anticipate a big rush this week to paint the name Farmers' Union Warehouse and to move grain from Alicel where the union holds many holdings.
A bold theft occurred last Saturday as three men in ragged tramp attire boarded a box car between Baker City and North Powder. They stripped a load of clothing, left their old clothes as payment to the company, and fled toward the woods near North Powder. No arrests have been made.
