New Bridge Scheme proposed on Grande Ronde river road

County officials study diverting the river 100 feet to avoid building two new steel bridges. If approved, the plan would cut costs to about $2,000 to $2,000 less than constructing two spans. Bulkheads from old bridges would be reused as part of a perpetual, spring‑flood resistant road along the north bank near Perry. Further action awaits communication with Commissioners Brown and Selder.
