The Union County Exposition announces chorus selections for the musical contest. La Grande will field two choirs with one led by Prof Frank Bridges while A L D B choir rehearses. Baker City Union Pendleton and Wallowa counties show interest. leaders to be confirmed tonight.
The La Grande band aims to enter a Boise contest and will rehearse at the first session. The program includes Poet and Peasant, plus two other classical pieces requiring skilled rendition. Local organization approves the selection as solid music.
W. J. Snodgrass, stricken with paralysis at Victoria BC, has been brought to Portland and may be moved to La Grande. A letter to J. G. Snodgrass confirms he is in Portland in similar condition. No decision yet on return home. Will Snodgrass of Colfax left for Victoria but learned Mrs. E. W. Bartlett had joined her father in Portland.
