Electric storm blacks out Cove plant and disrupts lines
A severe thunderstorm last night damaged the Cove power plant, cutting telephone service and halting operations at the Grande Ronde Electric Company. The storm caused about 8600 in damage to the Cove plant and knocked out the Washington avenue substation briefly. The Hot Lake sanitarium experienced a partial blackout while Cove and Union districts faced the strongest outages.
