The Rev J Franklin who has led the First Baptist Church for the past year has received a call from another church and is to decide soon. The congregation awaits his decision as details of the offer remain.
At a Tacoma area business meeting last night Desug Gaeu and Mrs Day were praised for their service to the church. The note emphasized their strong public regard, the church’s growth, and the farewell as the pastor prepares to move to a new field of labor around the month’s start with the community wishing them well.
Ordinance No 315 prescribes cement sidewalk specifications on Depot street and Washington avenue in La Grande Oregon. At yesterday afternoon’s meeting of the WCTU Mrs John Reeves and Mrs C R Thornton and Mrs A C Huntington were elected delegates to attend the Senegal county convention watch meeting Union on the 20th of this month. Five delegates will attend from this union with Mrs Thomas Stephenson and Mrs Mary Aldrich already delegates by office as president and secretary.
