J McCarthy arrived from the coast and many townsfolk visited La Grande Union area for meetings and errands. Local residents join visitors, discuss real estate, mills and school plans, with several leaving for Pendleton and Portland.
Young women seeking to learn the millinery trade are urged to call at once at Miss Smith’s millinery shop. Miss Smith is successor to Mrs J. R. Forrest, inviting applicants to begin training immediately.
La Grande invites ladies to a fall opening this Friday and Saturday featuring the finest line of millinery ever shown in the city. The display runs September 11 and 12 with special emphasis on new hats and styles.
