Neighborhood Club installs new officers in social meeting
The Neighborhood Club on Sixth Street holds officers day with retiring officers running the program. Mrs J D Smith becomes president and a slate including Mrs Chester Bidwell as VP and Mrs D B Cox as secretary is installed. Delegates will be chosen for the Oregon Federation in Forest Grove. Light refreshments follow a brief business session.

Colt Lost and Freight Crash Kill One in Montana
A missing black colt wandered off from J. Snider’s La Grande farm on October 4 prompting a rewards notice. In Garrison Montana a freight collision with a work train on October 5 killed one man, identified as conductor William Haines, and injured seven others as a relief crew responded to the scene.

Presbyterian Ladies Host Chicken Dinner on Wallowa Day
The Presbyterian church ladies will serve a chicken dinner on Thursday October 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the K of P hall over the Red Cross Drug Store. Dinner price is 35 cents and organizers promise careful preparation for a large crowd.
