Advertises planning winter sauerkraut from bursting cabbage heads now ready to process. Farmers report hundreds of fine heads bursting and in need of brine and spades for kraut making. Cabbage priced at 1 per hundred with some gardeners offering bursting heads at 75 cents per hundred.
Box elders dominate La Grande's shade trees with silver leaf poplar, ash, and maple also present. Experts urge pruning in October and November while cautioning against spring cuts to prevent sap bleeding. The city boasts elaborate, beautiful shade from hardy varieties.
Notice declares funds in the La Grande treasury to pay all outstanding general fund warrants up to No 7180 with interest ceasing from this date. Funds are also available to cover water fund warrants. City Treasurer La Grande Oregon September 28.

The Union County Board of Equalization will meet at the La Grande Court House on Monday October 18 1909 to examine the assessment rolls and correct valuation errors.
