The MR N and Company replies to Mayor Stoddard’s request, saying it does not deal in coal and is short on coal for its own use, with reserves loaded out of La Grande. It fears some trains may be abandoned for fuel and offers to supply cars to move wood to La Grande.
Wm Miller president of the La Grande Commercial Club calls a citizen’s mass meeting for next Monday at 7 30 p m to discuss the fuel situation and form plans to prevent suffering. All residents of La Grande urged to attend and aid in relief efforts.
At a conference between Thaw's attorney Hatride and District Attorney Jerome the trial was postponed until January or February to allow time for the defense to obtain depositions.

Dublin reports Thomas Hynes aged 116 at Tralee Company Kerry. For over sixty years he kept the old Tralee jail and in the 1840s witnessed executions of whiteboys during the Troubles. He saw moonlighters hanged later and claimed 97 years of daily patheen and a pipe.
Westchester New York November 23 Upwards of 160 acres have been bought by the Hebrew Sheltering Guardian Society in Sherman Park for a training college for poor children. The project carries a $1,000,000 price tag with pledges including Adolph Lewssohn $50,000 the Lewisohn family $125,000 and Jacob H Scniff $50,000.
