The La Grande track team returned from Corvallis and Eugene after ten days away. At Corvallis Millering captured a first and Davis a third in the interscholastic meet, while Baker and Cove did not place. The returning lineup included Millering, Bolton, Reynolds and Perry.
The city council of La Grande Oregon passes an ordinance authorizing the mayor and recorder to deed to C T Darley for lots 5 and 6 in block 13 Grandys second addition. Payment may be cash or land or other equal value. Bids invited May 24 1911 with 5 percent certified check. Warren Brothers agreement noted for bitulithic paving bids. Mayor A L Richardson. Recorder M Humphreys. May 19 1911.
Sealed bids are invited by the La Grande city council for 5050 square yards of bitulithic pavement on Elm Street from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Avenue, including excavation, curbing and drainage, to be built per the specifications.
