A Shanghai marriage themed film and ventriloquism act headline Scenic Theatre offerings. Miss Mabel Johnston headlines with ventriloquism and a vaudeville style set including a girl and violin, with Amick and Marez as society entertainers.
Two men were arrested by Officers Walden and McLachlen after railroader E. E. Ellsworth accused them of robbing him of money and papers while riding in a box car from Huntington to Baker City. Ellsworth identified the suspects, who denied guilt and were searched. his papers were recovered. They were later released on district attorney orders, with witnesses summoned to Baker City, as victims declined to press charges for lack of funds.
Twenty dark blue uniforms with black braid trim arrived for the band, purchased through Penington & Co. The 20 suits cost nearly 250 dollars and will be worn for an evening street concert when favorable weather arrives.
