The plaintiff seeks an absolute divorce from Laura W. Knowlton for wilful desertion lasting over a year in the Circuit Court of Oregon. A summons requires Laura Knowlton to answer by June 28, 1909, or a default decree will be entered. Published by order of Judge J. W. Knowles with six weekly publications starting March 12, 1909.
One of the city’s largest recent deals sees Germanpia Life Insurance Company of New York selling to Fourth National Bank of New York a northeast corner property at Pine and Nugent Streets for 1.5 million dollars. The transaction implies a square foot price of 3.07.

Misses Bush Kuhn and Blever began grading eighth grade diploma papers this morning for about 118 sets. Pupils were examined in eight to ten studies with some writing on. Most took the February examination earlier, and all eighth graders have two chances to write for diplomas.
Wall Street brokers will charter a special train to Seattle to follow the cross continental race starting in New York June 1 and ending June 15 to 20. The party will travel via Le Grande toward Denver arriving about June 17 as drivers reach the Colorado metropolis.
