Happy Harrison the Human Ostrich in Dangerous Condition
The Seattle Times Apr 3 1908 reports Happy Harrison the Human Ostrich collapsed after swallowing a steel horse shoe nail during a vaudeville act. He underwent surgery by Dr B E M Rininger to treat perforation of the intestines. surgeons removed nails blades lab nails screws tacks from his interior. Harrison a Hebrew man aged 88 had been in the act for nearly 20 years.
