German carpenter arraigned for assault on Booker T. Washington

Albert Ulrich of New York was arraigned on assault charges after he chased Booker T. Washington through Central Park and wounded him. Washington said he mistook Washington for Picking Tom and sought a friend, while Washington required hospital care for scalp injuries. Ulrich held on $500 bond as his trial proceeds.

The remains of Ad Gilham former assistant postmaster of the city arrived today from Phoenix Arizona where he died last week. The funeral will be held tomorrow at the Presbyterian church. Relatives from Seattle and other parts of the Pacific Northwest arrive tonight and tomorrow.
