Publicity Manager F B Currey has secured broad free advertising in midwest newspapers for the Grande Ronde valley. La Grand Commercial club endorses local weeklies over large city publications and plans to contract with about three hundred papers to tell the irrigation story to midwest readers.

Two youths tried to slip aboard the railroad excursion with a suitcase of stimulants disguised as refreshments to defeat the caterers. They sought a loan for a suit case earlier, arousing suspicion. the depot incident ended with the container found to hold drinkable contraband.
