Edward Everett Hale, longtime Chaplain of the U S Senate, minister and author, died at his Roxbury home at 87 from heart failure. A Harvard 1839 graduate, he led Worcester and Boston churches, edited literary journals, wrote Prayers of a Hundred Years and Story of Massachusetts, and Taft sent condolences to his widow.
