Bramwell of La Grande Sugar factory and T W Workman inspected 160 acres of experimental fields on the Slope and Prairie Creek, reporting to the Enterprise on crop prospects and cultivation.
News record notes the experiment exceeded expectations with potential for the largest tonnage per acre in La Grande factory history. Officials say the valley can grow enough beets to supply several factories, signaling strong prospects for expansion and local industry.
The Law and Order League speaker praised District Attorney Ivanhoe and urged vigorous action against law violators in local option matters. A. S. Geddes urged higher standards, better schools, and safer homes, while Geo. Stoddard pledged support to improve conditions. Rev.
