A humorous tale from the Kansas City Journal describes a chaotic sequence as a man sends his son to fetch his paper. The boy crashes into a barbed wire fence, a cow dies, cream spills, teeth are lost, and a baby swallows a set of teeth amid a runaway maid and poultry chaos.
Auditor McUardy signed the smallest government warrant for one cent to pay for daily mail delivery over a four year route in New Hampshire. Adriel L Sherman of Freedom won the contract to carry mail seven and a half miles to a village, six days a week, excluding Sundays.
A flood today washed away portions of Valdez region and flooded Seattle area as Hood from Valdez glacier cascaded down. The warm four to five weeks melted mountain snow, driving a torrent through the valley and destroying many buildings and houses in the city.

San Francisco Bridge Company submitted the lowest bid at 24.87 cents per cubic yard. The appropriation for the work is 401000 dollars.
