Chas Oswald, merchant of Rensselaersville N Y, testifies arnica salve cures lockjaw related sores. Ad touts antiseptic healing to prevent blood poisoning and claims Seth Burch was cured of a severe sore by the product sold for 265 cents at Newlin Drug Co.
The Centennial changed hands and offers room and board at six dollars per week with meals available for twenty five cents. Boarders are invited to visit the proprietor C. T. Town to arrange accommodations.
Portland interests file incorporation papers for the Mid-Oregon & Eastern Railway to build a line from Portland over the Cascades through central Oregon to the Snake River and connections to California Nevada. Capital is 15 million dollars with leaders David Leppert C H Monroe and L G Tobias. The plan may be a paper road with Gould and Isate ties suggested.

Wheat ripens fast. most winter wheat to be cut by August 1. Cinders and combines used. labor scarce as farmers seek workers daily.
Word reached this city Wednesday that a sheep herder accidentally killed himself near the toll gate. The man stooped to drink from a spring when a loaded pistol fell from his pocket and fired, instantly killing him. He was said to be herding sheep for Louis Johnson. the name was not learned.

A local music school presents two departments for all ages. The first division trains beginners from five years old through three grades with daily hour lessons. The second division covers grades five to sixteen with one or two lessons weekly and graduation offered.
Dissolution notice announces Romig and Staples in La Grande Oregon dissolved by mutual consent with E R Romig retiring. P Staples continues the business at 121 Adame Avenue and will pay all debts and collect all notes and accounts. Dated La Grande Oregon June 2 1906.
