Burglary Ends in Rail President Rawn’s Death

I Rawn president of the Chicago Indianapolis and Louisville railroad was shot and killed by a burglar in his Winnetka home. The attack occurred in the dining room after he investigated a noise. A gun cartridge was fired and bloodstains were found near the scene as police tracked suspects amid reports the intruder was wounded and hiding nearby.

Seatte July 20 Conductor Gilbertson of Alki Point turned his car and handed the dispatcher a tin box containing 2,000 dollars worth of jewels found on the car. Reverend H Poland reported a robbery on a streetcar while en route to the bank to deposit valuables in a safety deposit vault.

North Yakima reports a fire last night at the Mc Carthur suit house causing about 2000 dollars damage. Ned Hopkins, a baseball player, fell through the burning roof while fighting the blaze and was badly burned but rescued and expected to recover.
