Pride of La Grande Athlete Dies From Polio Myelitis
Arlo Myers eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry A. Myers died Saturday evening at 6 after a week long illness from acute polio myelitis. A standout athlete and student, he captained tracks and led in debate and academics. His funeral was public due to infection fears, with classmates as pallbearers and burial in Masonic cemetery.
