The Commercial club approved erecting a large 12 by 18 sign on the government lot where the Berry residence stood. It will explain the vacancy on Adams avenue and note the $45,900 appropriation and start of construction. A sign painter was assigned to begin work.
The La Grande Commercial Club calls a special meeting for Monday August 16 1909 at eight oclock in the K P hall. Directors with expired terms will be elected and members will assume a larger role in legislation and governance.
