City of La Grande enacts rules on riding bicycles on sidewalks, bell and lamp requirements, and safe conduct. Provisions prohibit obstruction of sidewalks and set fines of six to twenty five dollars with costs. Repeals ordinance 82 series 1889 and takes effect July 18 1908 after publication.
The city council may appoint a Deputy Marshal with mayoral consent and fix compensation at 76 dollars per month payable from the general fund. Existing ordinances to the extent of inconsistency are repealed. This ordinance is to be published in the La Grande Evening Observer and takes effect July 7 1906 after council approval.
City of La Grande Oregon passes Ordinance 310 authorizing street sprinkling contracts funded by the city. It lists the council committee power to arrange sprinkling for each street and requires publication in the Evening Observer. Signed July 6 1905 and approved July 7 1906 by the mayor.
