News from St Petersburg reports a vast strike wave with about 150000 workers out across towns. Delegates from Moscow and Libava seek support to press employers, while police and troops tighten controls and factories are sealed to avert clashes.
Petersburg report notes the Czar answers strikers petition by inviting workmen to gather in front of the Winter Palace tomorrow at one o'clock in the afternoon. The Central News wires from London report the development as the strike situation unfolds.

News of the McKenzie and Dey murder in Chicago has reached the area and fears for Potter, McKenzie's partner, who may be wounded.
In Bedford, the preliminary hearing for Frank Evans and Elmer Browning on murder charges against Sarah Shafer was moved from Justice Harris to Justice McLaren's court. The hearing is rescheduled for next Thursday the 26th.
The Observer quotes Thomas W Lawson, a protesters against Amalgamated Copper and Standard Oil. He forecasts trouble for the trust, claiming a peaceable revolt by February. He mentions costs of funds and promotes “The Magic Jimmy” in the notice from Boston.
Washington Jan 21 Senator Smoot resumed his testimony in the ongoing inquiry. He corrected yesterday’s statements, said a quorum of apostles could remove a member, and that revelations could bind the church but only the President could receive binding revelations. He affirmed obedience to law even if revelations conflicted, and noted God might amend revelations. The hearing adjourned until Monday.
Portland Ore January 21 after forty hours the jury in George Sorenson’s bribery case reported they could not agree and were discharged by the court. Indictments against two jurors A C Atkins Polk County and John Northup The Dalles are expected. Federal judge Bellinger then pursued perjury indictments. grand jury examined Wheeler county residents over homestead sitings at Butte Creek Land, Lumber and Livestock Co.
Des Moines January 21 Carl N Spencer was arrested on a charge of embezzling six thousand dollars from Des Moines National Bank where he served as assistant cashier. He faces prosecution and potential imprisonment.
