Listing describes a 60 acre fruit tract near Cove with fenced fields, water, barn and house, horse and buggy and tools. Also a stockholders meeting set for February 1 1909 at 2 PM at La Grande Investment Co to elect directors and conduct business. J K Wright secretary.
Ten carloads of apples were purchased by the Ramsey-Oldenberg company of La Grande from multiple local growers who pooled their crops. The exact sale price was not announced but is known to be at or near a set figure.
Indications point to prompt delivery of cars at eastern destinations as shipment of this lot begins early next week. The 10 carloads nearly complete Union's apple sales for the season at La Grande.
Tomorrow at 8 o clock dedication services begin at the Elks home with W S Levens of Baker City as supervisor. A banquet follows at 9 with after dinner speeches and dancing for Elks members and their ladies. Many outsiders from Elgin Enterprise Wallowa Pendleton and other lodges are expected to attend.
