Promoters report a high number of birds on exhibit at the Rhode Island show in Union County. Entries cover nearly all birds grown in the county. other displays are withheld due to the storm. Neatness and cleanliness notable throughout the fine show.
Despite a severe storm 126 exhibits arrive at the Harris Building for the county’s first annual poultry show. Organizers expect high attendance with doors open until 9 or 10 each evening and a 15 cent general admission. Rhode Island Reds and other breeds fill neatly arranged coops as judges begin tomorrow.
A Pacific coast voyage ends in distress as the American steamer Kalulant from Honolulu docks at Francisco harbor with many injured sailors aboard. Fire prevention and relief efforts are on the agenda at Hose No. 1 tonight.
