Notice states a black and brown Jersey cow impounded on January 6 1909 in Ta Grande Oregon. The animal is dehorned with three holes in each ear some torn out and appears unframed. If not claimed and charges paid by January 19 1909 the cow will be sold to the highest bidder for cash. Dated January 8 1909 by John W Walden.
The Imber cigar store and soft drink establishment owned by Robert Lloyd in Imbier was entirely destroyed by fire early Sunday. About $2,060 in stock and building lost with no insurance. Authorities suspect arson, though Lloyd is unsure about rebuilding.
Ten thousand booster booklets for promiscuous distribution by the Les Grande Commercial club are just off the press and will be sent with requests for descriptive literature of Union County. The compact folders cover principal industries with a few half tones, delayed by press room at Portland.
The States National Bank opened this morning after a Saturday night announcement. About a dozen businessmen were among those hoping to be first to deposit in the new institution. Receiver Niedner of the Farmers & Traders institution is now in the rear of the building. The Dullimne Savings bank space remains unoccupied. Local advertisers tout Merhan Pile Remedy sold by Silverthorn & Mack.
