Miners Entombed After Lowell Mine Explosion
Douglas Ariz Jan 5 The Dean mine at Lowell remains closed and no word has come from twenty imprisoned miners after an explosion. One man was killed and another fatally injured in the blast. The entombed men have now been underground for over twenty four hours.

Bomb Explosion Kills Bank Cashier and Clerks
A bomb wrecked the Fourth Street National Bank in Philadelphia just before noon killing assistant cashier W. Z. McLear and another man named Poorrepy. About twenty clerks were injured and two dead in the blast as police set up guards around the bank and securities.

Funeral of Old Schoolmate Frank Baker Delights Oregon History

Forty Workmen Buried in Railroad Construction Collapse
Forty workmen were buried while cutting a new railroad line between Lamachild and Leingen. Thirteen bodies recovered. Initially two men were buried and a crew of fifty began digging when a second collapse occurred, covering nearly all the workers.
