Record of a violent clash shows mounted troops using fixed bayonets to break a rioting crowd. Horse charge drives protesters back into shelters as hospitals fill with the wounded and many die from injuries.
In Neumunster socialist demonstrators resisted military orders and clashed with troops. Dozens were wounded, some mutilated, as bayonets sabers and cavalry used to disperse crowds amid nationwide protests against Prussian franchise reforms.

Springfield Illinois February 16 The Supreme Court held the state parole law unconstitutional. The ruling is expected to affect the case of Paul Steensland a convicted banker who was recently paroled and may be sent back to the penitentiary.

F S Bramwell purchased the upper EB P Laurence ranch in the John Day Valley above Prairie City this week. The deal closed this week after being made in the fall. Bramwell takes the ranch as trustee and it is now a holding of the gampler Valley Rail road.
James J. Jeffries arrived in Duluth today after completing a theater engagement and will immediately start a long hunting trip. He has earned about 60,000 this season and nearly 100,000 last year, and says he need not worry about money again. His first training goal is to test his wind which is deficient.
Safe crackers blew open the depot safe on the Salem Falls and Western railroad in Salem Oregon and escaped with eighteen dollars. The safe was destroyed and Sheriff Polk with bloodhounds is pursuing the culprits.
Mrs. Ben Brown of Island City widow of Union County pioneer Ben Brown lies critically ill at her Teland City area home. Daughters are present and doctors fear recovery due to advanced age and illness.
The Commercial Club board of directors will hold a meeting next Friday night. All members are requested to attend.
