Lisbon quiet after the King and Crown Prince are shot. Premier Franco maintains control as royalists mourn and republican plots falter. A revolt in Oporto is quelled and the dynasty remains intact under Don Manuel II.
Horace E. Neal former cashier of the Capitol Suite bank in Boise was arraigned on forgery charges. He waived preliminary hearing and was bound over on a 21000 bond in a proceeding held at his home due to his illness and witness constraints. Case stems from a suspended bank insolvency in Boise Idaho with bonds set at 310000.
A late February report from Loston describes Queen Amelie’s fear for her sanity as she reportedly vows to follow King Carlos. The piece cites a claimed plot to kill the royal family and ministers, with Franco's home attacked and soldiers repulsed. Admiral Amaral could become premier if a coalition forms.

Senator Piles proposes a federal loan to back the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific exposition.
The February term opens before Judge T. H. Crawford with jurors called from North Powder Union Cove Inland City and La Grande.
