Notice is hereby given that Emil Blevins has been appointed administrator of the estate of John Bleis deceased and qualified to discharge duties. All persons with claims against the estate must present them verified to the administrator at his residence in Cove nton County Oregon within six months from the first publication date December 18 1909. Hodgin is attorney for the estate.

In 1907 the Merchants of Oregon saved over 10000 by carrying part of their insurance in their own company the Oregon Merchants Mutual Fire Insurance Association of Dayton Oregon. In 1908 they expect to save 15000 while neighbors paid 1500000 in profits to outside firms. A mutual insurance at cost promises lower liabilities and prompt loss settlements.
Dated notice states the administratrix has qualified for the Benjamin Brown estate and that all claims must be presented to her at Island City or to attorney F. B. Ivanhoe in La Grande Oregon within six months from the notice date.

Mrs. G W Moore plans to open an American hotel above a rooming house in the Mahaffey building on Depot Street. The lower floor will house a gym, and a dining room will be added once the lower room is cleared. The rooming house is slated to open January 1. The note lists prominent Americans born in 1810.
The high school team left this morning for North Powder to play tonight on the North Powder floor. Officials to be provided by North Powder. Lineup includes Carpy, Childers, Capry, Hamilton, Earls, Kimmel, and Ingle with Lee Reynolds as manager. Game scheduled for 7:45 PM.
