A Good Word for La Grande

Panama canal awards Puget Sound lumber contract

The Panama Canal Commission awarded 2 207 000 feet of lumber to J J Moore & Co of San Francisco for 963 151 42 delivered to the isthmus. The entire supply comes from Puget Sound. local dealers had bid but Puget Sound firms won, signaling brisker trade here and other manufacturers’ reluctance to meet the low Puget Sound prices.

Little Herman Herald Earls son of Wm and Katie Haris began attending ME Sunday School on the first Sunday of 1904 and has not missed a Sunday all year. He has earned his offerings by hauling stove wood on a small wagon for a neighbor. Also in the first class, Little Banica Bolton has attended every Sunday for the year.
