Boy's Long Journey From Norway to La Grande
John Knudson, a 17 year old from Bergen, Norway, traveled alone to La Grande crossing the continent with many train changes. He arrived last Saturday and stays with Nels Nelson on Washington Avenue. Though unable to speak English, he plans to attend public schools at the start of the new year and is adapting to life here. He is brother to Ole Knudson a local fireman and C Knudson a Pleasant Valley wiper.
