Santa Claus arrived this morning to a warm welcome from eager children in La Grande. He rode in on passenger train number 1 and spent the day at the Golden Rule store greeting the youngsters amid the festive bustle and train noise.
Funeral services for Mark Boyd were conducted by Rev J R Beil at his sister Mrs A G Hemple's residence on Friday afternoon. A large gathering included many friends and a delegation of local printers union workers. pallbearers were printers union brothers. Interment followed at Mt Hope cemetery.
