Forest Fire Destroys Home of Mootgomery Family
Sunday afternoon a forest blaze near the homestead seven miles northwest of town destroyed the home and all possessions of Mr. and Mrs. Mootgomery and their two young children. While they fought the fire, gale force winds prevented saving much, leaving them with only the clothes on their backs and a few cords of wood and their team. They now live with Mr and Mrs Hendricks and welcome clothing or aid sent to the Hendricks home at Malin Street to help the family recover.
