The Spanty fair will be held this year in La Grande beginning October 4, lasting one week. The new catalogue will be out soon. Delays stem from efforts to unite Wallowa county participants with the fair. Premiums rise, new features added, and business leaders of La Grande sponsor a large premium list. Draw Drawn In Twenty Rounds Between Ross And Stanton
Billy Ross and Walter Stanton fought twenty fast rounds at the Queen City Athletic club in Haines with Charley Rungeon declaring the bout a draw before 6500 fans. Stanton pressed early and dominated at times, while Ross withstood and mounted strong moves in rounds ten and eleven. Both fighters exchanged solid blows as Stanton used body and head shots and Ross relied on the right swing and footwork.
