The Pastime announces Robert Burton joins the Pan tighe vaudeville circuit for a strong show. Durtion Pomewwwn is billed as a top act and will headline with new selections My Virginia and Dear Starry Eyed Good Night. The Prose Gang is featured in a period life film about King George II.
The Scenic Today presents The Little Cox in a humorous college race comedy with songs and lively performances. The program runs through Tuesday night and pleases patrons with strong musical features and amusing comedy numbers. In New York, physicians gather for the 20th annual session of the National Medical Association.
Local officials of the O R N replace the Greek crew with white workers. Sixteen are at work today after a brief stoppage. Plans to use Japanese workers were abandoned when white laborers could be hired, with potential crew increases until the monster coal bin is filled.
Oregon prepares for its state fair at Salem from September 14 to 19. The grounds have undergone major improvements including a larger grandstand and new buildings. Ten thousand dollars in premiums will be offered for livestock, agricultural and manufactured products as eight counties mount extensive exhibits.

La Grande society anticipates growth as the Is land City M. and M. company plans a two story brick implement house on Jefferson avenue adjoining Le Grande National Bank. Fred Holmes says work will start as soon as plans are ready and directors confirmed the move at their Saturday meeting.
Night officers rounded up two alleged house robbers Georg Evans and Frank Row after a break in at Blain where $45 was stolen. One suspect was arrested Saturday night. the other found by Officer Carr later that evening at Union. Evans had just been released from prison on a money order case. The crime occurred Thursday night in Stein and police had pursued leads since. Both men were arraigned before Justice of the Peace Mewart this afternoon.
