Delta Gummer, 6, daughter of Mr and Mrs W B Gummor, suffered a dislocated right wrist and fractures in both left wrist bones when a limb broke as she climbed an apple tree. She is resting well and expected to recover fully, though the dislocation will heal slowly.
In Umatilla County Democrats rally around Judge Alton 4B Parker as he plans a Portland talk next Tuesday night. County residents from Milton Weston Athena Helix and other towns respond with strong interest and hope for a special coach and reduced railroad rates. A delegation of 50 to 60 people is anticipated.
Walla Walla reports the 190% apple crop will be excellent in quality and may lift prices. Railroad figures show last year’s harvest reached 460000 boxes with about half shipped, and this season aims for around 600000 boxes as growers sprayed carefully.
