Train wreck near Meacham halts the circus’s last section, Engine 367 ditched with no injuries. The La Grande to Walla Walla leg resumes after 8:30 am, delaying the Elgin passenger train and threatening a late afternoon Barnum and Bailey show.
B Plaster, recent Columbia cafe manager from Union, fell from a third story window at the Columbia hotel near the RB B depot. He landed on his feet but sustained a severe head gash and was taken to St Francis hospital. Authorities speculate sleepwalking or unconscious condition rather than deliberate self harm.
The remains of Rev. Abraham Fades who died in Spokane Monday morning will reach La Grande tonight. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10:30 from the M B Church, of which the deceased was a royal member and ardent worker. Rev. C B Deal will deliver the funeral sermon.

In Union county Oregon probate court guardian Anna B Bay seeks license to sell a half interest in lots 9 and 10 block 108 Chaplin’s addition and an undivided one sixth in other La Grande blocks to fund maintenance of Louis W Bay minor. Next of kin must appear Sept 7 1908 at 10 am in La Grande to show cause. Published in La Grande Evening Observe August 1904.
