The First Eastern Oregon District Agricultural Society announces the county fair will be held in La Grande starting October 4 for one week. Delays were due to joining Wallowa county. the catalogue will be similar to the old one with higher premiums, new features, and a large list of premiums from La Grande business leaders. Exhibits encouraged for Union County’s largest fair yet.

H Richenberger of La Grande reports the arrest and conviction of the person who took a 1400 pound black pony from his pasture last week in March. The horse had a white hind foot and brands including a small H on the right shoulder and a half circle V on the left stifle. recapture of the animal followed.
