Government to Forward Full Payment for Adams Ave Property

J M Berry has been notified by the treasury department that eight thousand seven hundred dollars for his Adams avenue property will be sent in the coming days. The site is for a new federal building valued at sixty five thousand dollars. Foley plans to move his residence to Fourth street near the site. George Ferguson from Union arrived to assist in the book store.

Odd Fellows Social Marks 0th Anniversary

Spokane man arrested in California for embezzlement case

F H Hilliker of Spokane was arrested in Oakland on an indictment for embezzling 18400 from the defunct Pacific Live Stock Association. He will waive extradition to face charges as Sheriff Pugh accompanies him after R C Brown's arrival from Los Angeles. Attorney B G Ryker defends Hilliker as a state agent not a director.

Fine program for Congress in La Grande

Bank Robbers Dynamite Safe in Washington

The Eberton bank in Garfield County was dynamited last night and several hundred dollars stolen. Robbers fled with a team from J W Cox’s Garfield National Bank barn to Eberton then back to Garfield, left horses hitched to a pole, and escaped on a Northern Pacific speeder abandoned later. Guards await at stations as pursuit continues toward Spokane.
