Whitman contest set in April at Whitman Memorial chapel
In Walla Walla the annual alt TMAN musical contest at Whitman college will be held April 23 and 24 in the Whitman Memorial chapel. Entrants from three states compete in vocal piano organ and violin for four prizes totaling 1400 with yearlong conservatory scholarships valued at 350 each. Judges are from the Conservatory faculty. no institution staff are eligible. Also notice of final settlement in Oregon Union county: executors Augustus F Hug Benjamin F Hug and Robert H Lloyd set May 4 at 10 a m in La Grande for objections and settlement. Three skeletons were found in Walla Walla, two by F M Duggar of the county chain gang on Garden City heights and one near the city park. coroner McMartin will inter them in the county cemetery.
