An 11 passenger Texas International airliner vanished after a Thursday night takeoff from El Dorado and a search found no trace. Three identified as Red River Army Depot officers Col. Arthur B. Thunderstorms and rough conditions were reported over the 75 mile flight path toward Texarkana with dawn expected to bring no new clues.

City Man Drowns South of Genoa Wisconsin
The body of Alton Nordness, 68, of 2939 S 21st Terrace La Crosse was recovered about three hours after he fell from a riverbank into the Mississippi River three miles south of Genoa. Deputy coroner Rett Cox ruled it an accidental drowning. Nordness was fishing alone when seen to fall by a Viroqua couple who notified authorities. Services are being arranged by Schumacher Funeral Home in La Crosse.
