Council Cooperation Vital in North Side High Site Talks
La Crosse School Board President William Temte warns that a forced reconsolidation would require close council cooperation as negotiations over a Midwest Foundry site for a new high school continue. Foundry owner Sam Trendov and attorney Donald Harman attend as board officials list drawbacks of alternative locations. Potential costs hit about 1 million per four acre block near Logan High and environmental concerns loom for a city owned golf course site near County Trunk B. Trendey seeks to sell. Negotiations to continue with a report due if talks fail. Other sites include Copeland Park and areas around Logan, both facing political unpopularity and restrictive land use.
