On the eve of the trial for his wife Mi Wow un identified man, Wanderer resumed his defense claiming police coerced his confession. Coroner Froffiman and Volvo officers reportedly stated he was forced to speak after being struck and beaten by officials during the investigation.
A telegram from Cork reports Lord Mayor MacSwiney of Cork received food from prison doctors during a delirious fit on the sixtyninth day of his hunger strike. The Self-Determination League cites unconscious feeding as part of orders to keep him alive, while a later bulletin notes delirium, limited recognition of relatives, and a developing scurvy.
Six year old John Conway son of J Conway of 1419 Caledonia street had multiple fractures in his leg after being struck by a Knutson grocery delivery car on Windsor and Caledonia. He was treated at home then at Franeing hospital where doctors found a broken leg and reported no further injuries.
Madison reports Eau Claire will organize a 28 piece cavalry band, the first mounted band in state history. Adjutant General Orlando Holway announced the honor, with Theodore Steinmetz named warrant officer to lead a unit of up to 25 musicians. Steinmetz previously led Wisconsin national guard bands at major events.

The De Havilland craft, en route from Shigato to Chicago and La Crosse, was to be readied for a new La Crosse Twin City air-mail service. Officials say enough planes are gathered at Twin Cities and Chicago fields to warrant a launch soon.
British author G. Wells arrived from Russia and summarized Petrograd conditions as hunger and war but order. He met Bolshevik premier Nikolai Tchrenin and toured Moscow and Petrograd without a guide, saying impressions are not yet digested and dismissing reports of disturbances as humbug.

Hettrick attorney for master plumbers stone cutters and heat and ventilator contractors before a joint legislative committee investigating building materials. Pasquale in Prison Norristown Pa Augustin Pasquale known as The Crank, confessed kidnapper and slayer of 13 month old Blakely Coughlin, was committed to prison to await grand jury action on charges of first degree murder kidnapping extortion blackmail and burglary.
Armenia refused a Russian Soviet ultimatum demanding a troops transit through Armenian territory to join Turkish nationalists in Asia Minor. Bolsheviks urged repudiation of the Sevres treaty. Allies' aid request noted, with relief that rejection may trigger sizable fighting, awaiting allied decisions.
A New York hearing before the International Joint Commission heard Herbert Hoover and other shipping authorities urge a deep sea waterway from the Great Lakes through the St Lawrence River. Miss Bernice Keller 20, oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Q P Keller of Shamrock, died instantly when her father stepped on a plank unaware it was loose. He walked ahead to the barn as the plank shot up striking her head. Funeral held in Shamrock Cemetery. Survived by parents three sisters and one brother. She was a niece of Mr and Mrs C B Reliey of Sparta and Mrs A M Hererdaht of La Crosse.
