Citys First Traffic Death Of 63 Recorded

A La Crosse woman Mrs. Cantwell died in a two car crash at 11th and King Streets. Lynn Cantwell and Bonnie were involved. Police said seatbelts were not used. The collision caused about 1750 in damage. Funeral services set for Friday.

Slayton Quits AF to Fly With NASA

Permit Issued For 74200 Expansion At Northern Plastics

A $74,200 building permit was issued Wednesday by La Crosse city officials for a 22,200 square foot expansion at Northern Plastics Co. 1309 Norplex Drive. President James Gelatt says production facilities will grow and employment should rise after completion. construction to begin soon with Peter Nelson and Sons Inc. as contractor. Northern Plastics operates three La Crosse plants and one in Black River Falls.
