Vernon C. Gibson of Brice Prairie died suddenly in a local hospital after a 3 am Friday onset. A World War I veteran, he served in the Mexican border and 32nd division, led the VFW Thomas Rooney post and the Disabled American Veterans, and spent much time aiding veterans in La Crosse County.
