Priscilla Rost, 18, drowned after being thrown from a horse into a shallow Cedarburg lake near her home. Riding companion Theresa Siefert, 18, tried to help but could not locate Rost in the water. Cedarburg firemen recovered the body near the Kuehn farm.
President Kennedy's advisers report the anti-Communist war in South Viet Nam is going well enough to allow withdrawal of most American forces within two years. McNamara and Taylor return with no policy shift indicated, though they say the political situation in South Viet Nam remains deeply serious.
Dodgers pitcher Johnny Podres shut down the Yankees to earn his team's second straight World Series victory, limiting New York to six hits before Ron Perranoski closed out the ninth. Willie Davis delivered key hits, and Bill Skowron homered for the Dodgers while Don Drysdale and Bouton were set for a rematch next.
A Chicago and North Western Peninsula 400 passenger train struck a freight train on an open switch near Marinette Wisconsin injuring 15. Seven released after treatment nine hospitalized, with three in serious condition. Victims include Eugene Ravet Robert Aggen Wesley Rauschorn.

A coil of sheet steel rolled off a truck on Ohio 7 six miles north of East Liverpool crushing a car and five occupants. The truck then hit another car killing three more including Lila and William White.
Guy Lombardo and his music stirred old memories at the Cornell home as the orchestra played. The event recalled 1934 when the couple honeymooned and danced to Lombardo at the Sterling Illinois auditorium with a young Andrews Sisters singing trio.
