Summit Elementary kindergartners host Thanksgiving feast
More than 50 pupils at Summit Elementary School dressed as pilgrims and Indians for a kindergarten pre Thanksgiving feast. Parents and educators attended as five year old Brian Jerne explained who the pilgrims and Indians were. The table featured turkey dressing cranberry jello and cornbread. Principal Harold Dyar Supt Eugene Balts and coordinator Kathryn Cappelen attended and stressed the lesson of sharing and food origins alongside the holiday fun. Melanie Luedke noted Thanksgiving comes before Christmas and Keith Ko said onions are something to be thankful for.
