End Collision Kills Fireman in Burlington Wreck
In a rear end collision near Menominee between the Illinois Central Limited No 47 from Chicago and a standing freight, Fireman J E Carter of Prospect Street was killed. Engineer James Severson of Loomis Street stayed on the engine and escaped injury as the crash occurred about 11 15 last night. The freight had broken apart earlier causing delays on the Illinois Central tracks near Menominee twenty miles south of East Dubuque. The passenger train later passed onto the other track to allow the passenger to pass. Continued on page 6.
